The moment
Everyone remembers where they were.
The sofa too small for everyone,
the commentator's voice cracking,
the uncle who just won't sit down,
a hug with a total stranger.
A goal lasts one second.
The memory lasts a lifetime.
We put it on a record.
Put the disc on the frame and that second starts again.
Give that secondto whoever was on the sofa with you.
These aren't random goals: we picked every one. Here's why they made history.
1966 World Cup final at Wembley against West Germany. Geoff Hurst scores a hat-trick, the last in the final seconds of extra time. 4-2.
Did you know? His second, the one that bounced down off the bar, is still argued about. It's England's only World Cup.
«They think it's all over… it is now!»
Italia 90 last 16 in Bologna against Belgium, 119th minute. From Gascoigne's free kick, David Platt swivels and volleys in: 1-0.
Did you know? He had come off the bench. The goal opened the door to Italian football for him.
Euro 96 at Wembley against Scotland. Paul Gascoigne flicks the ball over Colin Hendry and volleys it in.
Did you know? He celebrated lying on the ground while teammates squirted water into his mouth: the famous "dentist's chair".
1998 World Cup last 16 in Saint-Étienne against Argentina. Michael Owen, 18, runs from halfway, beats two defenders and scores.
Did you know? That goal made him famous all over the world. Three years later he won the Ballon d'Or.
The discs are magnets, so they live on your fridge.
Right in the middle of the turntable.
The frame lights up, the disc spins and the stadium erupts.
